Communication/Enhancement/Safety/Low Cost
1. Improve lawn maintenance Program, by setting standards and opening new bids. Done
2. Repair the Brick on the neighborhood signs. (TBD) Sept In Progress
3. Improve neighborhood communication with a dedicated way for groups to connect beyond Facebook privately. Done
4. Add doggy waste stations. Done
5. Add Pine Straw and Mulch to Flowerbeds and Trees. Done

Kids Playground
The playground surface has deteriorated and is no longer safe for children. To protect residents, the area has been taped off and temporarily closed until repairs are completed.

Neighborhood Signs
Our brick entrance signs have visible damage and require masonry repair and resurfacing.

Suggestions for Next Year 2027
We are excited to share a vision for our neighborhood based on community feedback. Here is the list of resident-suggested goals to make Avery Lake even better in 2027.
1. Install 'No Soliciting' signs at the entrance with notification of potential fines to keep our community private.
2. Add 'Not a Thru Way' signage at the entrance to reduce non-resident traffic.
3. Host a 'Welcome Neighbor' Social every 4 months at the park to help new and long-time residents connect.
4. Install speed bumps in key neighborhood areas to ensure the safety of our children and pedestrians.
5. Build a 'Little Free Library' box to encourage book sharing among all neighbors.
6. Refresh our streets by repainting and leveling all streetlights and signage, and replacing any damaged items.
7. Enhance our curb appeal with beautiful seasonal flowers planted at the entrance.
8. Bring festive cheer to our community with entrance decorations for all major holidays.
9. Foster stronger connections and increased involvement with our townhome residents.
10. Plan and host quarterly neighborhood social events to keep us all connected.
11. Organize a community donation drive to support a local nonprofit organization.
12. Deliver informational flyers to every home to raise awareness about our community website.
13. Expand our playground fun by adding a new swing set for the children.
14. Install a canopy-covered bench swing at the playground, inspired by the comfort of Walter Elisha Park.
15. Create a peaceful walking trail around our pond for everyone to enjoy.
16. Add a picnic table and grill to the park to facilitate neighborhood cookouts.
17. Establish a neighborhood garden where residents can grow together.
18. Partner with the Anne Springs Close Greenway for a volunteer 'Adopt a Trail' program.
19. Join together for the Samaritan’s Purse shoebox outreach to help those in need.
20. Participate as a community in the Harvest Hope Food Drive to support local families.
